The DIY Marketer | Behind the Scenes - An Interview with Dr. Tammi Green
Welcome to "The DIY Marketer | Behind the Scenes.” Each month we sit down with a different guest to talk about all things life, business, and more. This month, we sat down with Dr. Tammi Green, a former client, a friend, and a melanated mom that we can’t get enough of!
Tell us more about you and The Melanated Fit M.D.
My name is Dr. Tammi White-Green. I’m a medical doctor (specifically a pediatric and adult psychiatrist) for over 22 years, a wife, and a mother of 4 boys. I’m also the CEO and Owner of Embrace to Empower Wellness Services, a wellness company committed to helping women over the age of 40 embrace their physical and mental health through fitness, nutrition, and mindset.
The Melanated Fit MD brand is a part of this overall vision through online education, workouts, and health coaching. My signature course, “Get Fit Sis - The 28 Day Self Care Blueprint for Busy Moms,” helps professional moms in their 40’s with young children create a self-care plan that takes them from being stressed and overworked to becoming energetic and putting their needs first.
What’s been the most challenging thing about starting your own business?
The most challenging thing about starting my own business has been knowing who my ideal client is and what services and products to provide.
How have you found success when it comes to marketing?
Being more focused and less distracted and providing superior client value with my content. And, also learning that selling my services can be done by being authentic with my message and showing up consistently online to provide them trusting my brand and me.
How do you balance being a mom, wife, and business owner?
I say no to the things that don't move my primary goals forward. Meaning that if it doesn't benefit myself, my family, or my business, I don't do it. I also have to make sure I schedule the time and put them on my schedule, and hold myself to completing daily goals.
If you could give another entrepreneur one piece of advice, what would that be?
Make sure that your mindset is strong and that you truly know why you are starting your business. Because others often won't have your commitment, and in those times when you feel isolated, your mindset will be the main thing that keeps you going.
